Name & Credentials:

Ann Brand Ph.D. in Psychology

Ann Brand is a mindfulness meditation teacher and college instructor, who loves exploring how the worlds of science and spirituality connect, flow, and intertwine. She is also a wife, mother, friend, wine-enthusiast, and a potter (a complete surprise to her!!). Ann teaches psychology courses in the School of Education at the University of Wisconsin-Stout where she is bringing the practice of mindfulness to teachers (both current and future) and students alike. Ann also teaches mindfulness practices here at The Center. Mindfulness is the practice of paying attention to the present moment on purpose and without judgment. Both research and practice have shown the benefits of mindfulness are great, including improving memory and attention, reducing stress and its effects (mental, emotional, and physical), and allowing for more positive relationships with others. Mindfulness practices have been important for Ann in bringing calm, clarity, and peace to daily life.

At The Center, you can find Ann in the pottery studio, leading/teaching mindfulness meditation, and behind the scenes managing the Facebook and Twitter pages.

Are you looking for ways to deepen and expand your mindfulness practice? Have you already taken a mindfulness course and need support in revitalizing your practice? Sustaining a mindfulness practice is challenging. Continuing to explore our experience with curiosity and interest takes persistence and care. Through directing our attention to our physical experience as it arises, we can connect more fully with our life and gather valuable information to live more skillfully. Our body is always giving us clues to how we are relating to what is happening around us. Tuning into these clues can help us connect with our present-moment experience, supporting our physical, emotional, and mental well-being. In this four-week course, we will engage in mindfulness practices that connect us with our experience in the body, such as mindfulness of the breath and mindful walking, intended to refresh and deepen your mindfulness practice. This course is designed for those who have previously taken Cultivating a Mindful Life six-week course or who have an existing mindfulness practice.

These courses are offered by Ann Brand, Ph.D., a mindfulness meditation teacher and college instructor. To sign up for a course, contact Ann at or call 715-579-9453. Don’t hesitate to call with questions
