Name & Credentials:
Massage Therapist, Yoga Teacher
Biography & Style:
It seems I have taken a road less traveled as I have navigated my way through a life of change, unusual experiences and unexpected blessings. I gravitated early in life to the big questions: who am I, what am I here for, what will death be like, which sometimes distracted me from the “smaller” questions: what is the sensible thing to do, what is my plan, how much should I save for retirement? But to regret any step in our path is to deny the beauty that exists in our life right now.
I have been a massage therapist for 26 years and was inspired at my first yoga class in 1987. But yoga didn’t stick as much as running did and I did a lot of miles on the pavement, running a personal best in the marathon in Victoria, BC of 2:59:38 and a 3:01 Boston Marathon in 2000.
Some pivotal learning experiences for me were group workshops with the Elisabeth Kubler Ross Foundation, Men’s workshops, past life regressions, psychedelic experiences (don’t tell anyone ;-), encounters with spirits and all sorts of other “flaky” stuff. After a meditation retreat in an ashram in the Catskills I found a new commitment to yoga but didn’t become a teacher until the age of 52. I’ve been blessed with meeting, knowing, learning from and loving some amazing people in my life, best of all my beautiful, intuitive and twinsoul Katie.
